Excerpt from ther Dayton Daily News

Wright State University has hired Brad Chandler as its next athletic director.

Chandler, 39, will be the fifth athletic director in Wright State history. He was formally introduced at a 1 p.m. press conference on Friday, June 26, at the admission visitor center in Wright State’s student union.

“I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity to be here at Wright State,” Chandler said in a release. “My family and I are so excited about being a part of the Dayton community and will be proud to serve the Wright State family.”

Chandler has served as the deputy athletics director at Bradley University since 2023. He also has worked at Arizona State as part of its general counsel, and has been part of the legal and compliance offices at Ohio State, Toledo and Rutgers.

“We are extremely proud to welcome Brad, his wife, Kara, and their daughter, Waverly, to the Raider family,” said Wright State University President Sue Edwards.

“This search was about finding the right person to take our athletics program to the next level — someone who prioritizes student-athlete success, academic achievement and building a program that represents the pride of our university and community.”
