Retirees Association announces scholarship winners

Excerpt from the Spring 2026 issue of The Extension

The Wright State University Retirees Association has announced this year’s Nick Davis Scholarship winners, who will each receive $1,975. Each has a family member who retired from Wright State University.

Ashley M. Booth

Ashley is majoring in Finance through the Raj Soin College of Business. A transfer from Sinclair and graduate of Franklin High School, she has a 3.906 GPA and expects to graduate after fall semester.

Ashley’s grandfather retired from Wright State in 2011, and she has many family members who worked, retired and/or graduated from Wright State.

Brian A. Dewberry McCutchen

Brian is majoring in Entrepreneurship and has a 3.727 GPA. A graduate of Belmont High School, he expects to graduate in 2029. Brian chose his major because he wants to start his own business. His aunt retired in 1983.

Kayla R. Smith

A graduate of Waynesville High School and transfer from Sinclair, Kayla holds a 3.41 GPA and is majoring in English in the College of Liberal Arts. She plans to graduate this fall. She shared that she has “loved every minute of her time here” and plans to attend law school. Her grandfather retired in 2010.
