Wright State University has announced the return of the Stars, Stripes and Flight basketball game, sponsored by Big Hoopla and supported by CareSource.
The game, on November 2 at the Nutter Center, will feature the Wright State men’s basketball team and the Air Force Falcons.
The game is meant to connect the academic institutions and honor Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, the U.S. Air Force, veterans and active-duty military.
The game also plans to be the kickoff event for the Big Hoopla, for the activities surrounding the NCAA’s First Four games held in Dayton.
Leaders from across the Miami Valley, such as Congressman Mike Turner, President of Wright State University Sue Edwards, and Wright State University Athletic Director Brad Chandler, addressed the significance of bringing the Miami Valley together for this event.
Wright State University Athletic Director Brad Chandler said, “This is more than just a basketball game. This is about a community bringing together folks from the military, honoring those in the military, and we’ll be having a swearing-in ceremony, so it’s a really exciting time. And there’s a great basketball game too.”
